Overview

My name is Mario. I came to JARC as a means to a second career, after years of working dead end jobs to provide for my 3 girls. As my kids have gotten older and less dependent on me, I now have to secure my own future. After attending 6 weeks of Bridge instruction, I made it into the CNC program at JARC where I was able to earn my level 1 CNC Milling certificate. I am currently in the final stages of earning my level 1 Lathe certificate.

My plan is to find meaningful employment utilizing my newly acquired skills which would give me a chance to focus more on myself as I have put myself on the back burner for the last 20 years. A chance to reinvent myself so to speak.

My need is having my vehicle diagnosed and repaired. I know some new parts and labor will most likely solve this problem.

Being able to repair my car would enable me to pursue higher paying job options as opposed to only jobs accessible by public transportation. I have identified obvious wage increases for similar job positions when transportation is not a hindrance.

I have known Mario for about 7 months now. In addition to actively participating in every financial and digital literacy class I have taught over the past few months, we met on a weekly basis to hone his computer skills. I really cannot say enough about Mario's initiative, dependability, and drive while at JARC. He is now in the final stretch of training and it would be great to see him receive this financial assistance.
