Homeless with twins-- I need help to pay off my balance and get public housing.

I was evicted after falling behind on rent due to a cancer diagnosis. I was recently blessed with twin boys, but I am facing homelessness again.

Overview

I am a 25 year old single mother of twin boys. I am a collision repair specialist. I am currently homeless. I became homeless when I found out I had cancer and could no longer work. This prevented me from paying my rent and it resulted in me getting evicted with no place to go. I was living in a shelter and from couch to couch. Months later, I found out I was pregnant with twin boys (which I was told was not possible) and my mother allowed me to stay with her for a short period of time. But now she has to downsize to a smaller house due to her being disabled. This means she no longer has room for us.

My goals are to get housing for me and my newborn sons. I also want to get a car in the near future. I am eager to go back to school for business management to fulfill my dream of opening a women-owned custom body shop for cars.

I need assistance with money to help me pay off my remaining balance from the public housing program that I fell behind on when I was diagnosed with cancer. Clearing the balance will allow me to get new affordable housing that is funded my the state.

Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to provide stable housing and regulated safety for my newborn twin boys. The funds will also help with affordable housing until I can get a better job that will provide for all of my family needs.

I have known Rebecca since October 2018. This mother is a client of PCAT. We meet weekly to talk about her goals, crises that may occur, her children's development when she was pregnant, and her healthy bond with them now since they are born! Rebecca has been very optimistic throughout her journey and knows she wants to be strong for her children. She has always been able to achieve goals she has set, and this particular one she needs some assistance with.
