Overview

I am a 44-year-old mother of two. I recently secured a position at Cisco working as a Screener. I love my job because I can help others to obtain and maintain gainful employment. I understand the importance of this because I am the sole provider for a family of 6.

My goals are to complete my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and develop professionally. I am constantly looking for new creative outlets and educational experiences for my teen-aged son.

I need to purchase items for our newly rehabbed apartment. I am in need of kitchen items, a sofa, bedding and storage items for my son and I, as well as a study space for my son who is entering high school next year.

Meeting this need will help me because my hope is to make our house a home in which my son and I feel safe and comfortable.

I have known Cassandra since starting my position at Chicago Lights 6 months ago. However, she has been involved with the organization long before we began our work. She has actively participated in both case management and an intensive group/one-on-one case management program. Through her eagerness to learn, she graduated from the Dress For Success Going Places Network and earned a full time position at Cisco. Her investment in her child's education and educational opportunities is amazing. Though she is exhausted from her job, she works extremely hard to make sure her son is on the path to success. Cassandra gives 100% to any goal she creates.
