Widow & mother of 3, I need welding gear to show employers I am prepared for the job

My goal is to get my welding certification, find a job, and support my 3 kids. It's hard to provide for them when I'm not working full time.

Marie is so excited to have had so many generous people donate money to help her get this welding gear! She just started her first welding job and was nervous about her eye sight so this is VERY IMPORTANT for her to maintain good performance on the job!

I want to say thank you for donating money to help me buy my welding gear. I now have my first welding job and having my own welding gear is really going to help me on this job. It will especially help me see my pieces better b/c my eye sight is not great and I really need an eye exam and prescription welding glasses. Thank you so much, the money you have donated to help me reaches not only me but my children as well because I can keep a steady job to help support my family.

Overview

I need welding gear to get a new job. This includes welding helmet, welding jacket, steel toed boots, an eye exam, prescription welding glasses, and welding gloves. Meeting this need will help me because I will be able to go to interviews and show employers that I am prepared for the job.

My goal is to finish my training and receive my certification in welding. Once I do that I will be able to find a job and be able to support my family.

My current situation is that I am working part time and in a welding training program trying to provide for my family. I am a widow and I have 3 children, 2 go to college and 1 is in high school. It is hard to provide for them when I am not working full time. Right now, my biggest challenge is my financial situation. It is hard to get the bills paid on time when I am not working full time, training, and taking care of my family.

I think of myself mostly as a hard working woman. I have learned to work with what I have and use it to the best of my ability. I'm most proud of my two children who are going to college and working on having a better life for themselves. I've worked at jobs including department stores and Fed Ex. Something interesting about me is I like to make people laugh by making jokes or doing something funny. I am very grateful for this opportunity and would like to say to the donors that what you do is very kind!
