Overview
I am a 23 year old father of two. I've been trying to get a job, but it has been really difficult because I lack the skills and certificates needed for the jobs I am interested in. I have completed job readiness workshops, but not the necessary trainings needed for employment.
My goals are to become financially stable so that I can support my family. I would like to get an apartment for my girlfriend, two kids and myself.
I need a laptop or a Chromebook in order to enroll in an online training. I will be attending training at BEOC (Brooklyn Employment Opportunity Center); I've enrolled for the Security Training. After completing the security training and once I receive my security license they will assist me in obtaining employment. After that, I will also pursue my OSHA 40 training. These trainings require either a laptop or a Chromebook to participate.
Meeting this need will help me because it will provide me the opportunity to participate and successfully complete the training or trainings. I will be able to gain the knowledge and skills needed to get a good job.

I have been supervising Juwon for almost 2 years. He is a very respectful young man and is receptive towards my directives and suggestions. He completed a job readiness program on his phone, but it was difficult. I believe it is vitally important for Juwon to receive this grant in order to help him fulfill his need. This will allow him to enroll and participate in a training or trainings that will provide him the opportunity to obtain employment. In doing so, he will work towards meeting the financial needs of his family and ensure they have a bright future.
