Sherielle from East SF Bay, CA

I'm a single mom who was laid off. I'm going back to school & need a laptop to succeed.

I’ve been laid off twice in three years. Now I’m going back to school to secure a more stable financial future for my family.

Overview

I need a updated laptop and clothes for school. This would mean a lot to me because I've wanted to go back to school for years, but the bills needed to be paid and I had no help so it was necessary for me to keep working.

I feel that this would encourage me to continue forward with school, and it would be a step in the right direction to financial stability. I want to regain my confidence and get educated to be prepared for my new career.

I was laid off in May for the second time in three years. I've decided to go back to school for a more stable financial future for my daughter and myself.

My goal it to be better prepared for school. It's hard to complete this when you don't have all the necessities.

I'm from Palo Alto, California and currently live in San Leandro. I learned jazz dancing at six years old and I continued to dance until I was 19 years. I'm happiest when the sun is shining. I'm most proud of my daughter because she just has a beautiful personality.

Im a single mother I have a beautiful six year old daughter in kindergarten she's very active and happy.

I'm hard working I'm not looking for a hand I just need little help to get me over this bump in the road.

We met when Sherielle came in to Davis Street looking for food and Job assistance five years ago. She is always active in our programs by participating and thinking of ways to make them better.

I think meeting this need is important because she has worked hard to become self-sufficient. Sherielle is always looking for ways to progress in life and get that job she is looking for. The computer is a way for her to continue her schooling at home when she is unable to leave her daughter and she will benefit from this since she is trying to get a license for real estate.

Sherielle has been very active with Davis Street for the last five years participating in our ACAP program, HMIS program, and also being part of our community ACAP board. I have seen the changes she has had made and the power she has demonstrated being a single mother to make her and her daughters life better.
