Overview

I am a single mom of two children and I have been trying to get a full time job to be self sufficient. I have been in the medical field for 20 yrs and want to continue moving up in the field.

My goals are to return back to school and get my certification in Medical Coding. I had an interview for a medical coding position and they said that all I needed was to be certified and they will give me a second chance to apply and interview. I like helping out patients to resolve any miscommunication with their providers regarding coverage of procedures and medication

I need assistance in paying my tuition. I received a grant from Pima Community College's HPOG Hopes Program but they were not able to cover the whole amount. As of right now all of my income goes to take care of my household and children.

Meeting this need will help me in that it will allow me to get certified as a Medical Coder. The training is only four months at Pima Community College, so it would not take too long to complete and to get employed. I thank you for your time and attention.

I met Sarah through Arizona @ Work Pima County. She came into our center looking for assistance in obtaining her certification. She is working hard through the initial process and looks to start in January for her Medical Coding training. Having Benevolent help fund for her tuition would be a life saver. She is working side jobs as of the moment but will be able to find a job full time once she completes her training.
