Tracy from Los Angeles, CA

Ready to rebuild my life in a stable home. A security deposit will get me there!

I'm 77-years-old, working part-time & trying to move forward from homelessness. A deposit & household items will push me towards stability.

Updates

Tracy's finally moved in! Oct 9, 2014

Thank you all for your kind donations! Thanks to all of you, Tracy was able to move into her apartment on September 25. She is grateful for everyone's generosity. Tracy is now living in a safe and friendly senior apartment building and is slowly but surely making her place into a home!

Overview

I am 77 years old and have been homeless for approximately one year. I am energetic and active. I use a walker now but hope to become able, not disabled, and physically fit again.

My goal is to move into permanent housing and be stable. I never want to be homeless again, never. This experience has been a good lesson for me. I will pay my rent on time, work, and be productive.

I have a Section 8 voucher and hope to move into a senior apartment, but I need help raising the funds I need to move in. Even though I work part-time, my limited income is a challenge and I need help paying for the security deposit of my apartment and to purchase household items.

Meeting this need will help me come out of poverty and homelessness. It would be a miracle if you could help me and I will be so grateful.

I have been working with Tracy for the last 4 months. Despite her age and disability, Tracy has a tremendous amount of energy and has been a pleasure to work with. I met Tracy when she was living on the streets in Hollywood. In this short amount of time, Tracy has been staying at our shelter in Hollywood and has secured a Section 8 voucher. Tracy has located a safe senior apartment and should be expected to move in very soon. Due to her limited income, she will need some financial help with move-in deposit and furniture. Tracy is excited and grateful for her housing opportunity. We hope that you will consider donating to help Tracy.
