PO Ogir
My job title is a Probation Officer with New York City Department of Probation. My job involves supervising offenders and guiding them to keep focused on the goal of overcoming the criminogenic factors that involved them in the criminal justice system. As a probation officer, it is my duty to assist offenders in meeting this goal and enforcing individual requirement set forth by the courts. Also, we are required to assess the individual risk of offenders and ensure that they are being supervised at the appropriate level. What I like about my job is being able to help change lives. It is a rewarding feeling to know that you have helped someone get back focused to be and remain a law abiding citizen.
