Erika

My job title is Senior Mental Health Clinician. I have been in this position since May 2013.

My work involves completing eligibility screenings and initial intakes with new clients as well as coordinating and providing their follow-up care. I also organize our healing groups, and oversee our afterschool services for youth survivors of torture.

What I like most about my job is being part of a community of people that have a shared interest in international social justice. I feel honored to be a part of this community, and to be a witness to survivors as they begin to enact more of their preferred lives.

In the future, I would like to expand our services to reach more survivors, and continue to add creativity to our community practices through use of photography, art, and cultural practices and ritual that support healing.
